This policy explains what information Rooted Relics Estate Co. ("RREC," "we," "us") collects through rootedrelicsestateco.com and our estate sale operations, how we use it, and who we share it with. It applies to visitors to this site, people who submit a consultation request, subscribers to our sale notifications, and shoppers at our in-person estate sales.
Information We Collect
We collect information directly from you in a few specific places:
- Consultation requests. When you request a free consultation, we collect your name and at least one way to reach you (phone and/or email), plus whatever you choose to tell us about the property — city, your relationship to the estate (owner, executor, heir, power of attorney, or other), timeline, home size, and the situation prompting the request.
- Sale notifications. If you sign up to be notified about upcoming estate sales, we collect your email address (and phone number, if you opt in to text alerts).
- Purchases at our sales. Payment card transactions at our in-person estate sales are processed by Square. We do not receive or store your card number — Square handles that directly, under its own privacy policy.
We also automatically receive standard web server information (like IP address and browser type) when you visit this site, which we use only for security and keeping the site running — not for tracking or advertising.
How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- Respond to consultation requests and follow up about your property
- Send the sale notifications and confirmation emails you've asked for
- Process payments and provide receipts for items purchased at our sales
- Prepare and send estate sale services agreements for your signature
- Keep our own records of clients and prospective clients
We do not sell your personal information.
Who We Share Information With
We share information with a small number of service providers who help us run RREC, only as needed for the purposes above:
- Square — payment processing and catalog management for items sold at our sales
- Brevo — sending confirmation and notification emails
- Dolibarr (our CRM) — keeping records of clients and consultation requests
- DocuSeal — preparing and collecting signatures on estate sale services agreements
- eBay — for select items we list for sale online on a client's behalf; eBay handles any buyer information for those transactions directly under its own privacy policy, not us
We don't share your information with anyone else except as required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of RREC, our clients, or others.
Cookies
This site uses a single functional cookie to keep administrators signed in to the internal management tools that run our sales. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, and we don't track visitors across other websites.
Data Retention
We keep consultation and client records for as long as needed to provide our services and to satisfy our own business and legal recordkeeping needs. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to what we're required to keep for legal, accounting, or contractual reasons (for example, a signed services agreement).
Your Choices
To unsubscribe from sale notifications, stop a text alert, or ask what information we have about you, correct it, or delete it, just contact us using the information below — we'll take care of it directly.
Children's Privacy
Our services are directed at adults handling estate matters. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, including encrypting data in transit and restricting internal access to what each team member needs to do their job. No method of storing or transmitting information is completely secure, but we work to protect it appropriately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above.
